Quick answers on fit, garment construction and protection classes.
Fit & Sizing
How do I find the right size for jackets and tops?
Measure your chest and compare it with the size overview on the product page. Between sizes? Size up for riding comfort. Each product page also links to its full size chart.
How do I find the right size for jeans?
Measure your waist and compare it with the size overview on the product page. Between sizes? Pick the size where waist and hip fit best. Do not simply size up, as jeans that are too loose can shift on the bike.
Is there enough room for protectors?
Yes. Our garments are designed to be worn with the protectors that sit in their pockets. Fit varies by model, so please check the fit notes on each product page.
Are the measurements in the size charts body measurements?
No. Size charts show garment measurements, measured flat. A tolerance of 1 to 1.5 cm is possible. The size overview on the product page shows the matching body measurement instead.
Single-Layer or Lined
What does single-layer mean?
The protection is in the outer fabric itself, so there is no separate protective liner across the garment. Single-layer gear feels close to normal clothing. Examples: Rogue jeans, Kingston shirt and Richmond jacket.
What does lined mean?
A protective PEKEV® lining sits under the outer fabric. This lets us use classic outer fabrics such as selvedge or stretch denim. Examples: Cafe Racer and Warrior jeans.
Which one is right for me?
Construction alone does not tell you how protective a garment is, so compare the CE class too. Choose single-layer if you want the lightest, most natural feel. Choose lined if you prefer a classic denim outer.
Protection Classes
What do AAA and AA mean?
They are protection classes under EN 17092, the European standard for motorcycle clothing. AAA is the highest class and AA the second highest.
Which of your products have which class?
- Class AAA: Kingston, Wellington, Richmond, Adelaide, Bathurst, Cafe Racer
- Class AA: Warrior, Rogue, Portland
You will find the class of each garment on its product page.
Is AAA+ an official class?
No. The highest official class under EN 17092 is AAA.
What is the difference between protector Level 1 and Level 2?
Protectors are tested separately from the garment. Level 2 is the higher of the two protection levels. Which protectors are included is listed on each product page.
Does protective clothing eliminate all risk?
No. Protective clothing reduces the risk of injury but cannot prevent it completely. Always combine it with other certified protective gear. More in our safety information.
Revolutionizing Motorcycle Apparel
Resurgence Gear, founded in 2013 in Canada, epitomizes the fusion of innovative protective motorcycle apparel and the vibrant inspiration of its birthplace. Our journey began with the groundbreaking PEKEV® lining material, a result of a decade's worth of research in materials and spinning techniques. Initially crafting motorcycle jeans for various brands, we soon identified a market need for more stylish and protective gear.

Challenging Traditional Limitations
Challenging Traditional Limitations
At Resurgence Gear, our story is rooted in over a decade of dedicated research and manufacturing in the realm of protective motorcycle apparel. This journey began with a commitment to addressing the shortcomings prevalent in the materials used in lined jeans and other motorcycle garments. Our quest was to discover a combination of fibers that would overcome these limitations.
The industry was riddled with materials that exhibited significant weaknesses, such as a drastic reduction in strength after washing, low abrasion resistance when wet, poor breathability, and a lack of flexibility and comfort.

A Mission for Style and SafetySubheading
Our relentless experimentation and innovation led to a monumental breakthrough. We succeeded in developing a fibre that addressed these weaknesses and set records in abrasion resistance. This achievement marked the birth of Pekev®, a patented fibre that emerged still as the world’s safest and most effective material for protective motorcycle apparel in terms of abrasion resistance.
Developed with superior spinning techniques, PEKEV® stands as one of the strongest globally. It features exceptional tensile strength and abrasion resistance, surpassing 15 times carbon steel, and boasts high resistance to water, chemicals, and UV radiation. Proven in international tests, this fabric excels in safety and durability, even after washing as much as you like.
Urban Energy and Natural Beauty as Design Muse
The vibrant city of Toronto and the pristine nature of Ontario continually inspire our designs. In 2023, we introduced an abrasion-resistant waxed cotton based on the new PEKEV® Ultra fabric and CE Level AAA certification, blending high-end safety with urban style. In 2024, we launched the first abrasion-resistant fabric from recycled cotton with PEKEV® Ultra Lite, marking our commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Setting Industry Benchmarks
Resurgence Gear goes beyond the norm of just meeting certification standards. Our mission is to provide the highest level of protection, comfort, and style in motorcycle apparel. Our jeans, setting a high safety benchmark with a 10.83-second abrasion resistance record, exemplify this commitment. Designed for all riding conditions, our gear is not only protective in accidents but also flexible, breathable, and enhances the overall riding experience.
A Continuous Journey of Innovation
At Resurgence Gear, our inspiration from Toronto's dynamic energy and Ontario's natural beauty drives our ongoing innovation. Our extensive range of jeans, shirts and jackets integrates our fabric technologies, ensuring each piece offers ultimate protection, comfort, and a style influenced by the unique character of our Canadian roots.

2013: The beginning with PEKEV® lining
The revolutionary protective fiber, setting a new standard in motorcycle apparel with its unmatched abrasion resistance and durability. This innovative material, meanwhile in the 3rd generation, not only surpasses any traditional fabrics in terms of safety, but also offers enhanced comfort and flexibility, redefining rider protection in all conditions.

2015: PEKEV® Lite, one of the world’s lightest lining
PEKEV® Lite, an advanced variant of the original PEKEV® material, offers a lighter and more breathable option for motorcycle riders without compromising on safety. Ideal for riders seeking protection in warmer climates or more casual settings. Compared to other polymers, also PEKEV® Lite has the highest impact strength, is self-lubricating, has high wicking properties, has a low amount of friction and is resistant to abrasion.

2017: Introducing PEKEV® Ultra – a single layer fabric
The sewing revolution in motorcycle gear, spinning cotton and elastane around a core of protective PEKEV® fiber. This innovation created a unique yarn that marries the durability of PEKEV® with the comfort of traditional fabrics, offering riders a single-layer material that’s both protective and comfortably flexible.

2022: Showcasing protective fabric innovation at EICMA
This year the partnership with Riderstyle Trading was sealed at the world's largest motorcycle trade fair, EICMA. Riderstyle not only takes over exclusive distribution in Europe, but is also intensively involved in expanding the collection and rebuilding the brand.

2023: The Advent of Abrasion-Resistant Waxed Cotton
Resurgence Gear achieved another groundbreaking milestone by successfully waxing the PEKEV® Ultra Lite fabric. This advancement brings together the robust protection of PEKEV® Ultra Lite with the classic, water-repellent qualities of waxed material, offering riders an unprecedented combination of safety, style, and weather resistance in their motorcycle apparel.

2024: Pioneering with Recycled Cotton
Resurgence Gear introduces an eco-conscious innovation by combining PEKEV® Ultra with recycled cotton. This initiative highlights our commitment to sustainability, utilizing reclaimed cotton fibers. This sustainable approach represents a first small step in reducing environmental impact while maintaining high-quality motorcycle apparel.
